Job summary

Mercy Hospital Washington is seeking Registered Nurses to join the Float Pool (PRN) and support a dynamic, cross-functional care team across the Emergency Department, ICU, Cardiac Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical units. You will gain diverse clinical exposure while delivering high-quality patient care.

Float Pool RNs enjoy flexible coverage with incentives including differential pay and shift differentials, plus employer-matched retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program and active RN license in Missouri or compact license (must meet state board requirements).
• 1+ year RN experience preferred.
• BLS (required within 30 days of hire); ACLS and PALS certifications

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care as a Float Pool RN across ED, ICU, Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical units.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure flexible coverage.
• Uphold patient rights and confidentiality; maintain Mercy Service Standards.

Utilizes the Mercy Nursing Professional Practice Model and nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patients care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patients' rights and confidentiality of patient information. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice, the goals of Mercy Health System, the Philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy, the State Nurse Practice Act, the Code of Professional and Business Ethics, and the Co-Worker Code of Conduct. Incentives & Benefits You'll Love

Special Float Pool Pay Differentials:

• $5.00/hr for RNs without ICU experience
• $7.50/hr for RNs with ICU experience

Shift Differentials (Evening/Night)

• Base Hourly Rate + All Applicable Differentials

About the Float Pool

Float Pool RNs rotate across the following units:

• Emergency Department
• ICU
• Cardiac Telemetry
• Medical-Surgical - (Adults)
• Medical-Surgical - (Adults & Peds)

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Licensure: Active RN license in Missouri or compact license (must meet state board requirements)

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required within 30 days of hire

Physical Requirements:

• Able to push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting throughout shifts
