Job summary

Mercy Hospital Washington is hiring Registered Nurses for the Facility Float Pool. As an RN in our cross-functional team, you’ll provide patient care across multiple units and contribute to flexible staffing that supports patient needs.

You’ll develop clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills while delivering compassionate care in a mission-driven environment with Mercy's values guiding every shift.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Licensure: Active RN license in Missouri or compact license (must meet state board requirements)
• Experience: 1+ year RN experience preferred
• Certifications: BLS required within 30 days of hire; ACLS and PALS may be required depending on assignment

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care using the nursing process and maintain patient rights and confidentiality
• Coordinate patient care with other departments and rotate across units
• Develop clinical assessment and communication skills in a fast-paced Float Pool environment

Utilizes the Mercy Nursing Professional Practice Model and nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patients care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patients' rights and confidentiality of patient information. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice, the goals of Mercy Health System, the Philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy, the State Nurse Practice Act, the Code of Professional and Business Ethics, and the Co-Worker Code of Conduct. Incentives & Benefits You’ll Love

• Special Float Pool Pay Differentials:

  • + $5.00/hr for RNs without ICU experience

  • + $7.50/hr for RNs with ICU experience

• Shift Differentials (Evening/Night)

• Base Hourly Rate + All Applicable Differentials

About the Float Pool

You’ll develop top-notch clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills while working alongside compassionate, dedicated professionals.

Float Pool RNs rotate across the following units:

• Emergency Department

• ICU

• Cardiac Telemetry

• Medical-Surgical - (Adults)

• Medical-Surgical - (Adults & Peds)

Qualifications

• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required within 30 days of hire

  • Depending on assignment, may also require:

• Physical Requirements:

  • Able to push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs regularly

  • Requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting throughout shifts
