Job summary

St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport, part of Hartford HealthCare, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols. The role is a Day/E shift with every other weekend day shifts, 8-hour shifts, rotating holidays, and opportunities to join the Nurse Residency Program for new grads.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates knowledge to assess patients and identify needs to provide individualized care.
• Delegates care tasks to staff to meet patients' needs and maximize performance.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds and provides input for outcomes.
• Develops, implements and revises individualized care plans.
