Job summary

St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT, is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures. The 36-hour rotating schedule includes day/evening shifts with 3-12 hour blocks and every other weekend and holiday.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans; communicates patient condition.
• Serves as primary coordinator of disciplines for well-coordinated care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Coordinates discharge planning with the healthcare team.
• Assesses patient needs across physical, psychosocial, cultural and age-related domains.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds and professional development.
