Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a registered nurse to support the Atrium Health Union - Nursing Float Pool. The role involves 3 x 12-hour shifts per week, from 7a to 7p, with every other weekend, and potential float to Atrium Health Union, Union West, Waxhaw ED and Anson.

The ideal candidate has a nursing degree, an active RN license, BLS, and at least 1 year of clinical nursing experience. A BSN is preferred, with a commitment to safety and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with multi-state compact and/or state license where providing services.
• BLS certification required; other certifications may be required by specialty.
• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking.
• Proficiency with electronic records and clinical digital platforms.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care, engaging patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team to improve outcomes.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
• Evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.
• May administer medications and therapies per clinical protocols.
• Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and delegation.
