Job summary

The New York Foundling is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Developmental Disabilities Division in New York. The RN will assess, plan, coordinate, and oversee medical care, ensuring high-quality, person-centered services for individuals supported by our programs.

Ideal candidates hold a NYS RN license, have at least 1 year of nursing experience, and can train and supervise unlicensed staff while maintaining compliant health records and strong advocacy for client well-being.

Qualifications

• Current New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• 1+ years of nursing experience.
• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment skills and staff education ability.
• Solid documentation skills and OPWDD compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assess medical conditions and develop targeted care plans.
• Coordinate with physicians and families to align care.
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Provide telephone triage and guidance to staff and clients.
• Train and oversee unlicensed staff in care procedures.
• Maintain accurate health records and ensure regulatory compliance.
