Job summary

Health Advocates Network, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a correctional setting in Ordway, Colorado. Local pay is $65.00 per hour on a W2 basis.

The role includes flexible day scheduling with three-day blocks and 13 hours 20 minutes per shift. Responsibilities include medication administration, patient education, EMR documentation, and coordination with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safety and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current CO license/certification in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience within the last 3 years.
• PSV verification may be required.
• Copy of all current required certifications (BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test).

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor progress and document assessments and outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.

Shift Details:

• Schedule: Flexible on days of the week; shifts are typically scheduled in blocks of three consecutive days.
• Shift Length: 13 hours, 20 minutes.
• Day Shift: 0545–1905.
• Swing Shift: 1000–2320

Registered Nurse (RN) Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' health conditions and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor patient progress and document assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.
• Perform wound care, IV therapy, and other clinical procedures within scope of practice.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control standards, and facility policies.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR).
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting safety and quality outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestrictedCO license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
• Minimum of 1 year/sof recent experience as aRN within the last 3 years.
• Copy of current, completedPrimary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test,...)
