Job summary

Health Advocates Network, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in Smithfield, NC to deliver high-quality patient care in a correctional setting.

The role operates on a day shift with a 10-hour schedule, and offers a local pay rate of $53.00/hour (W-2). You will provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care, perform medications and treatments, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safety and positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must hold NC RN license in good standing.
• Minimum 1+ year RN experience within last 3 years.
• Copy of PSV from licensing board or verification agency if required.
• Copy of current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test).

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ health conditions and develop care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient progress and document assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and emergencies.
• Perform wound care, IV therapy, and other procedures within scope.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, infection control standards, and facility policies.
• Maintain accurate and timely EMR entries.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care emphasizing safety and quality outcomes.

Registered Nurse (RN) Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' health conditions and develop individualized care plans.

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

• Monitor patient progress and document assessments, interventions, and outcomes.

• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.

• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.

• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.

• Perform wound care, IV therapy, and other clinical procedures within scope of practice.

• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control standards, and facility policies.

• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR).

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting safety and quality outcomes

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted NC license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.

• Minimum of 1+ year of recent experience as a RN within the last 3 years.

• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test,).
