Job summary

Health Advocates Network, Inc. is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our correctional healthcare team in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. The role offers local pay of $39.00/hour (W2), with additional travel pay opportunities and stipends for lodging and meals.

The LPN will provide direct patient care under supervision, administer medications, monitor vitals, and help with assessments and care plans in a secure facility. NC license and 1+ year experience required.

Qualifications

• Current, valid NC LPN license in good standing.
• Minimum of 1+ year of recent LPN experience.
• Copies of PSV verification and required certifications (BLS, N95, immunizations, TB) as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of a RN or physician.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and record vital signs; report changes.
• Assist with assessments and individualized care plans.
• Perform wound care and basic nursing procedures.
• Document care in the EMR accurately.
• Educate patients and families on health maintenance and plans.
• Assist with admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Maintain a safe, clean, therapeutic environment; follow policies and infection control.

Travel Pay:

Travel Rate (based on 36 hours): Hourly $20.47, Stipend (Lodging $693.00 + M&I $329.00) = $1,022.00

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and record patients' vital signs and report changes in condition.
• Assist with patient assessments and implement individualized care plans.
• Perform wound care, specimen collection, and other basic nursing procedures.
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Educate patients and families on health maintenance and treatment plans.
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients.
• Follow facility policies, infection control protocols, and regulatory standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted NC license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
• Minimum of 1+ year of recent experience as an LPN within the last 3 years.
• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test).
