Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Clinical Operations Coordinator, RN to oversee daily clinical operations across pulmonary, sleep and thoracic surgery sites. You will supervise clinical support staff, manage schedules, and drive process improvements to ensure high-quality patient care.

The role involves direct clinical care less than 20% of the time, with strong emphasis on staff coordination, policy adherence, and collaboration with practice leadership.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure in a clinical field (RN)
• BSN or degree completion within two years of hire
• Licensed registered nurse (RN)
• Minimum of five years of clinical experience
• Basic Life Support certification (AHA)

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the office's clinical support staff, manage workload distribution and prioritization of tasks.
• Participate in interviewing, hiring, training, progressive discipline, dismissals, and performance appraisals.
• Oversee and direct day-to-day office clinical operations within budget guidelines.
• Assist with managing providers' schedule templates and optimize patient care hours.
• Schedule staff and allocate resources to maximize patient access and satisfaction.
• Ensure front-line communication with staff regarding clinical workflow, quality and productivity.
• Ensure service excellence and perform service recovery when necessary.
• Manage medical-surgical supplies within budget.
• Ensure data entry accuracy by site staff and coordinate with central offices.
• Conduct regular office staff meetings and participate in leadership meetings.
• Maintain patient dignity and confidentiality.
