Job summary

South Texas Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to manage care for patients in medical and surgical settings. You will assess, plan, guide, and evaluate nursing care, providing leadership to the healthcare team.

The role requires interaction with hospital staff, may involve weekends/holidays, and adherence to compliance and service-excellence standards. Texas licensure, BSN preferred, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS/ENPC as required.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Texas, or part of a compact state license, or has a valid temporary RN license for the State of Texas while waiting to receive the permanent license. BSN preferred.
Effective January 6, 2016, must possess an Associate Degree, Baccalaureate Degree or Diploma from a School of Nursing or University.
Handle with Care (or obtained within six months of employment) in required specialty.
Must have and maintain BLS
Must have and maintain current certifications, according to unit specific needs. Certification must be in accordance with the curriculum of the AHA, for Healthcare Provider’s Program (for any and all certifications applicable through the AHA program) - please check all that apply:

Responsibilities

RN manages patients with medical conditions or surgical procedures; assesses, plans, guides, and evaluates nursing care.
Oversees and guides nursing staff under their supervision and interacts with hospital staff and ancillary departments.
May work weekends, holidays, evenings, nights, and/or on-call/call-back status.
Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.
