Job summary

Tygart Center in West Virginia seeks an experienced Nurse Educator to lead staff education in long-term care. You will report to the Director of Nursing, develop education programs, supervise orientation, and conduct competency testing to uphold high patient care standards.

The role requires an accredited nursing degree, current RN license, and several years of clinical experience, including gerontology and adult learning.

Qualifications

• RN license required and nursing degree from an accredited school
• Minimum three years of full-time clinical experience preferred
• Two years of long-term care nursing experience with one year as an educator preferred

Responsibilities

• Report to the Director of Nursing.
• Develop education programs in response to staff needs and teach current patient care and nursing center practices.
• Supervise and monitor new nursing employees throughout orientation.
• Perform annual competency testing and evaluate nursing staff performance to identify education needs.
• Provide oversight to Employee Health Program including vaccines and tracking of immunizations for all employees.
