Job summary
WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. seeks an experienced Nursing Education and Training leader to plan, implement and evaluate comprehensive education programs across WVU Medicine System and WVU Hospitals. This role focuses on staff development, nursing leadership competency, and partnership with leadership for practice transitions.
The position requires a Master’s in Nursing (or related field), an RN license (state or eNLC), and 5 years of nursing plus 3 years in leadership. Doctorate preferred.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field is required.
- Current RN license in state or eNLC is required.
- Five years nursing experience with at least two years in teaching/learning.
- Three years of leadership or supervisory experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversees planning, development, management, and evaluation of clinical education training programs and curriculum.
- Develops education plans utilizing multiple modalities to impact learning needs.
- Implements standardized hire and annual competency model.
- Facilitates professional development and ensures staff competence with orientation and onboarding.
- Guides Nursing Services Orientation/onboarding for new clinicians, including mentoring program.
- Ensures documentation of education and training in the Learning Management System.
- Serves as a consultant to system hospital education departments and leadership.
- Partners with leaders to align educational programs with organizational goals.
