Job summary

WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. is seeking a senior Nursing Education leader to assess, plan, implement and evaluate education programs across the WVU Medicine System and WVU Hospitals. This role develops educational plans, mentors staff, and ensures competency via the LMS while aligning with organizational goals.

You will collaborate with leaders, design curricula, and drive professional development, onboarding, and standardized competency programs, including AHA courses. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field.
• Current RN license or multi-state license via eNLC.
• 5 years nursing experience with 2+ years teaching/learning.
• 3 years leadership or supervisory experience.
• Doctorate preferred; certification in Nursing Professional Development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversees planning, development, management, and evaluation of clinical education training programs.
• Develops learning needs assessments and competency plans with leadership.
• Implements standardized hire and annual competency models.
• Facilitates staff professional development and onboarding with mentoring.
• Guides nursing leadership development and documentation in LMS.
• Consults with leaders to plan educational needs and new practices.
• Oversees continuing education credits and performance improvement planning.
