R1 RCM Inc. is seeking a Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Specialist in Austin, TX. You will use clinical and coding knowledge to perform concurrent and retrospective reviews of inpatient records, improving documentation quality and reflecting accurate severity of illness and complexity of care.

Requirements include an active US RN license, 3–5 years in acute care CDI, and familiarity with EMR/CDI platforms. A base pay range is provided with a target annual bonus plan.

• CDI practices knowledge and documentation standards.
• Experience with coding and reimbursement expectations.
• EMR/CDI platforms familiarity.

Responsabilidades

• Initiates physician interaction during documentation gaps to ensure accurate coding and CMI reflection.
• Educates physicians and staff on documentation requirements and reimbursement policies.
• Applies coding guidelines to assign DRGs with high specificity during hospitalization.
• Collaborates with coders, auditors and quality teams to resolve issues.
• Keeps up to date with changes in clinical documentation standards and regulations.
• Conducts focused reviews in Mortality, PSI, and other identified projects.
