Job summary

The Laurels of Carson City in Michigan is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to oversee and coordinate resident care during assigned shifts, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.

The RN will supervise LPNs, CNAs, and other staff, assess and update care plans, delegate tasks, and support residents and families while maintaining a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-2 years of nursing experience in long-term or sub-acute preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises LPNs, Medication Aides, CNAs/STNAs and other staff providing direct care
• Plans, assigns, and directs work in alignment with resident needs and staff capabilities
• Prepares work assignments, adjusting for staffing levels and resident safety
• Receives staffing-related calls and arranges replacements as needed
• Transfers employees among units per staffing demands
• Completes performance evaluations and provides input on hiring, disciplining, or terminating staff
• Adjusts break schedules and resolves staff concerns
• Oversee unit operations during absence of higher-level management
• Use independent judgment in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
