Job summary

South Texas Health System is seeking a registered nurse to lead and coordinate nursing care for patients admitted or evaluated for medical and surgical conditions. The RN will assess, plan, guide, and evaluate nursing care in alignment with hospital policy and patient-centered care principles.

The role requires current Texas RN licensure (compact state accepted) with BLS and unit-specific certifications (ACLS, CPR).

Qualifications

• RN license in Texas (or compact state) with temporary license acceptable while awaiting permanent license.
• BSN preferred and active BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Manages care for patients admitted or seen for medical or surgical conditions; leads nursing care planning and evaluation.
• Provides safe, competent nursing care per facility policies and standards.
• Oversees nursing staff under their supervision and coordinates with hospital teams.

Education

Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Texas or compact state license; temporary Texas license allowed

Associate Degree / BSN preferred
