Qualifications

• RN license in Alabama (or multi-state license valid in AL).
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Previous nursing leadership, long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation experience preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing with oversight of nursing services and daily clinical operations.
• Support nursing staff supervision, coaching, education, competencies, and performance.
• Help monitor staffing, scheduling, documentation, care planning, and clinical practices.
• Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, survey readiness, and infection-prevention activities.
• Assist with reviewing changes in patient and resident condition and ensuring appropriate follow-up.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing leaders, interdisciplinary team members, patients, residents, and families.
• Support compliance with applicable regulations, professional standards, and NHC policies.
• Serve as a nursing leadership resource and assist with coverage or on-call responsibilities as assigned.

The ADON works closely with the Director of Nursing and interdisciplinary team to support daily nursing operations and regulatory compliance.

Position Responsibilities

Assist the Director of Nursing with oversight of nursing services and daily clinical operations.

Support nursing staff supervision, coaching, education, competencies, and performance.

Help monitor staffing, scheduling, documentation, care planning, and clinical practices.

Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, survey readiness, and infection-prevention activities.

Strong clinical judgment, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality improvement processes is preferred.
