Job summary

Comprehensive EyeCare Partners is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to assist in organizing and daily function of the operating room in an ambulatory surgery center. You will oversee patient care activities, ensure safety, and coordinate with physicians and staff.

Requirements include a WA RN license, 2+ years in OR or ambulatory surgery, and readiness to obtain BLS/ACLS within 6 months. Ophthalmic experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience in ambulatory surgery center or operating room preferred.
  • Ophthalmic procedures experience preferred but not required.
  • RN license in WA and BLS/ACLS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain active professional relationships with physicians and patients.
  • Organize equipment, instruments, medications, and supplies for cases.
  • Perform surgical prep per standard of care and surgeon preference.

They also oversee patient care activities and maintain a high standard of safety for the patient and other staff members.Work Schedule: Likely no holidays, weekends or night.Roles and ResponsibilitiesMaintains active professional relationships with physicians and patients by assessing needs and levels of satisfaction with facility services.Ability to make sound nursing judgment based on nursing theory.Medical records documentation is legible, concise and accurate.Ability to organize equipment, instruments, medication and supplies for cases according to patient needs and physician preference cards.Working knowledge and experience in hospital or ambulatory surgical center operating room.Demonstrates appropriate nursing management and intervention in the perioperative period.Performs surgical prep per standard of care and surgeon preference.Adheres to recommended traffic patterns.Effectively communicates and interacts with patients, their family, and other external and internal clients (including fellow employees) from diverse backgrounds.Uses knowledge of medical record policy and procedure.Supports initiatives designed to improve individual and organizational performance.Experience Requirements2+ years’ experience in an ambulatory surgery center or operating room is strongly preferred.Experience with ophthalmic procedures is preferred but not required.Experience as an operating room nurse is preferred but not required.Familiar with computer software and the ability to learn new systems quickly (Electronic health record experience preferred).Able to remain focused and organized and stand for extended periods.Education Requirements2 or 4-year degree plus a current, unencumbered RN license in the state of WA.Current RN license and BLSACLS certification obtained within 6 months of hirePhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
