Job summary

Comprehensive EyeCare Partners in Austin, TX is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to support ophthalmologists with eye care services and streamline patient flow.

You will perform specialized eye exam testing, assist with administrative tasks, educate patients on medications, and ensure HIPAA compliance, opening and closing duties, and other assigned tasks.

Qualifications

  • One-year experience in a customer facing position preferred.
  • Medical related experience preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Proficient in use of internet.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform specialized eye exam testing while streamlining patient flow.
  • Provide phone support with request for prescription refills as authorized by the physician.
  • Educate patients regarding administration of medications and pre- and post-operative instructions.
  • Adhere to HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.

They assist with both clinical and administrative tasks, contributing to the efficient operation of the practice.Roles and ResponsibilitiesAbility to perform specialized eye exam testing while streamlining patient flow.Other diagnostic testing such as: Visual Aids, OCT, Corneal topography, etc...Providing phone support with request for prescription refills as authorized by the physician.Educate patients regarding administration of medications and pre- and post-operative instructions as directed by physician.Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, such as HIPPA guidelines, to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.Assists with opening and closing duties.Other duties as assigned.Experience RequirementsOne-year experience in a customer facing position preferredMedical related experience preferredProficient in MS Word, Outlook, and ExcelProficient in use of internetEducation RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED preferredPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
