Job summary

Riceland Foods is seeking a hands-on Plant Operator in Stuttgart, AR. The role involves cleaning and monitoring equipment, taking samples, and stabilizing bran for further processing at our Rito Plant in Jonesboro.

You will support plant safety and food safety policies while wearing PPE and performing routine daily checks. The job requires a high school diploma or GED with 1–3 months related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate and monitor plant equipment and processes.

Responsibilities

• Clean and monitor equipment and collect samples; stabilize bran for oil extraction.
• Maintain plant safety by monitoring entry points and reporting unauthorized personnel.
• Follow Food Safety policies and PPE protocols; document daily checks.
• Set dryer temps and moisture on expanders to ensure product quality.
• Start and stop boilers, expanders, and the entire plant as needed.

Job Description

Clean, monitor equipment, take samples, stabilize bran which is sent to Stuttgart to have the oil extracted.

Job Duties

Other duties may be assigned. Responsible for plant safety by observing persons entering your work area, asking if you can assist them and reporting unauthorized persons to your supervisor. Attend training as required or approved by supervisor. Responsible for food safety by following Food Safety policies/procedures. Clean; wash; monitor equipment; wear PPE and work safely. Check the number of fines in collets and record daily. Check the moisture of the collets leaving the expanders and record daily. Check the moisture of the collets leaving the dryer and record daily. set dryer temps and moisture setting on expanders to make a quality collet daily. Clean out fines out of the dryer daily. Monitor the temps and the entire plant daily. Start the boilers and know how to switch steam from the hull burner daily. Mix boiler chemicals as needed. Start and shut down expanders as needed. Know how to start and shut down the entire plant as needed.

Education Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)and one to three months related experience and/or training preferred.
