Job summary

Santander Consumer USA Inc. is seeking an Associate, Risk Management to support the Second Line of Defense. You will assist with risk assessments, KPI development, control testing, and remediation efforts across business lines, partnering with stakeholders to sustain risk framework adherence.

Required is 5+ years in risk management or related fields, with strong analytic and documentation skills. This on-site role offers a base pay range and a comprehensive benefits package, with base pay

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military service, or education – Required.
• Master’s degree in a related field or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military service, or education – Preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in risk management, internal controls, auditing, credit management, a relevant line of business, and/or legal or regulatory functions – Required.
• Experience supporting and/or leading risk projects across multiple business lines offering financial services.
• Experience collaborating with internal and external service providers to establish resource requirements, schedules, and service levels – Required.

Responsibilities

• Drive Risk Culture: Ensure awareness in the Business Line of risk frameworks, policies and standards.
• Communication & Training: develop metrics and deliver accurate data with stakeholders.
• Adherence to Frameworks: partner to review policies and ensure adherence and issue validation.
• Monitor risk sources: engage research and networking to anticipate critical risk issues.
• Issue Identification & Assessment: conduct RCSA responsibilities including process mapping and control matrices.
• Internal Control Testing: validate control adequacy and elevate deficiencies with root cause analysis.
• Exam Management: liaise with the Business Line for exam activities and remediation artifacts.
• KRI Framework Support: define metric details including scope and thresholds.
