Job summary

Santander US is seeking an Associate, Business Control & Risk Management to support risk and control activities within the First Line of Defense. You will work to identify risks, assess controls, and ensure adherence to enterprise risk frameworks across the business line.

You will help develop KRIs/KPIs, contribute to risk assessments, and drive remediation in collaboration with stakeholders to strengthen risk management practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in risk management, internal controls, auditing, or related fields.
• Experience leading risk projects across multiple business lines in financial services.
• Knowledge of retail banking risk and regulatory expectations.
• Understanding of the regulatory environment and second line of defense.
• Ability to influence executives and build credibility across lines of business.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent project-management abilities.
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess key risks and control effectiveness across the business line.
• Develop and monitor KRIs and KPIs to track risk
• Assist with risk assessments, RCSA, control testing and remediation.
• Partner with SLoD and stakeholders to ensure adherence to risk frameworks and policies.
• Support exam management with regulators, internal audit and risk reviews.
