Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Risk Specialist in the US Card Risk Event and Issues team to help manage and close out risk items across events and issues, from initial analysis to remediation and closure.

You will collaborate with risk managers, business leads, and Card Governance, gaining hands-on exposure to the lifecycle of risk items while contributing to process improvements in a dynamic, learning-focused environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
• At least 1 year of experience in Risk Management, Project Management, Process Management, or Banking Operations.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred; 2+ years in Risk Management, Project Management, Process Management, or Banking Operations.
• 1+ years of experience with G‑Suite documentation management.

Responsibilities

• Support Risk Event and/or Issue containment and remediation with guidance from senior teammates.
• Work with process owners, analysts, tech, and third parties to understand and address issues.
• Analyze and interpret Risk Event/Issue results to determine corrective actions.
• Coordinate and negotiate with teams to meet timelines and move remediation projects forward.
• Contribute to root-cause investigations and problem-solving for remediation projects.
• Maintain artifacts and entries in the system of record.
• Escalate situations to leadership in a timely manner.
