Job summary

BrightView Landscapes LLC is hiring a Climber I to join our tree care team. The role involves working in trees to perform pruning, cabling, bracing, lightning protection, and removals, while supporting site clearing and debris disposal.

You will safely access canopies, operate chippers, trucks, and blowers, and use chainsaws and hand tools. Flexibility for weekend work and strong safety practices are required.

Qualifications

• Demonstration of role specific skills or verifiable requisite experience.
• Able to follow directions and established procedures related to roping and rigging, maintenance of equipment, adjustments to equipment, and reporting malfunctioning equipment.
• Read and interpret documents such as sales orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to perform mathematical operations using weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to calculate or estimate weight, volume and distance related to arboricultural field operations.
• Apply critical thinking skills to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations with limited standardization.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic tree care operations such as pruning and limb removal up to 60 feet high.
• Access a tree safely and move through the canopy while removing branches without damage or injury.
• Operate powered equipment like chippers, trucks, and blowers.
• Use chainsaw techniques in ground and canopy environments.
• Use hand tools—saws, pruners, pole saws, rakes, shovels—per tasks.
• Wear PPE per industry standards and company protocols.
• Maintain a safe, organized work zone.
• Follow plans to prevent property damage and injuries during tree care.
