Job summary

BrightView Landscapes is seeking a Climber I to join its tree care team. The role focuses on pruning, cabling, bracing, and lighting protection, with support for site clearing and debris removal.

You will ascend trees, operate power tools, and follow safety procedures to protect people and property. Expect to work outdoors, handle equipment like chippers and chainsaws, maintain strong physical stamina, and obtain EHAP, First-Aid, and CPR certifications as needed.

Qualifications

• Demonstration of role specific skills or verifiable requisite experience.
• Able to follow directions and established procedures related to roping and rigging, equipment maintenance, and reporting malfunctioning equipment.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to perform mathematical operations (add, subtract, multiply and divide) using weight, volume, and distance.
• Ability to calculate or estimate weight, volume and distance related to arboricultural field operations.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic tree care operations such as pruning and limb removal in trees up to 60 feet tall.
• Access a tree safely; move through canopy following safety protocols.
• Operate powered equipment like chippers, trucks, and blowers safely.
• Use chainsaws in ground and canopy-based techniques.
• Use hand tools such as saws, pruners, rakes, and shovels.
• Wear PPE per industry standards and company protocols.
• Maintain a safe, organized work zone; prevent property damage and injuries.
• Communicate with climbers using hand signals and with the public verbally.
