Job summary

Leidos in Framingham, MA seeks an Associate Substation Protection and Controls Engineer to join our Power Delivery division. You will work under supervision to develop skills in substation engineering and gain independence on projects.

Responsibilities include assisting with protection/control design, performing calculations, and producing engineering deliverables while maintaining QC standards and collaborating across disciplines.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 0-2+ years of utility substation engineering experience with a B.S. degree.
• 0-1+ years of utility substation engineering experience with an M.S. degree.
• Basic understanding of the utility grid (generation, transmission, distribution).
• Solid understanding of basic principles of electric power.
• Strong attention to detail and quality in deliverables.
• Proactive communication with strong written and oral skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Assist project teams with Protection and Control design on utility substation projects.
• Perform basic engineering calculations to support design.
• Follow the established Quality Control Plan for assignments.
• Prepare project deliverables including drawings, reports, and correspondence.
• Collaborate with other substation disciplines as required.
• Develop processes to improve project execution efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records and organized files.
• Continue learning to improve technical knowledge.
