Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate Structural Engineer for its New York, NY office to support the design and construction of building structures across residential, commercial, institutional, and mixed-use projects.

You will develop structural models, perform calculations, prepare construction documents, and support QA/QC in collaboration with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors to deliver safe, efficient, and code-compliant solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or related discipline.
1 to 3 years of post-education experience.
Knowledge of structural engineering principles and code compliance.
Familiarity with design/build, rehabilitation and new design.
Proficiency with relevant laws, codes, regulations, and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

Perform basic professional structural engineering tasks including site condition analysis and conformance determination.
Assist with technologies, modeling techniques, and design requirements for safety and functionality.
Verify site characteristics and assist in securing structural soundness from loads and environmental factors.
Prepare technical reports with sketches, calculations, and 2D/3D illustrations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver project objectives.
Support project managers with risk assessment and design concept input.
