Job summary

WSP seeks a Full-Time Consultant Structural Engineer for its New York, NY office. You will be involved in projects with our Property and Buildings Team, helping meet client objectives and solve challenges in building and infrastructure design and construction.

Responsibilities include data collection, modeling, and producing documentation, with collaboration across engineers, planners, and regulatory bodies to ensure safety, compliance, and quality throughout project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
• Engineer in Training Certification
• Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering (preferred)
• Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management
• Ability to coordinate with agency regulators and understand requirements
• Proven critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

• Collect, compile, and analyze data from site surveys, blueprints, GIS data, and other sources for project development, design, and construction.
• Perform professional structural engineering work and assist with research and inspections of site conditions to determine conformance with rules and permits.
• Incorporate advanced modeling, design requirements, and operating strategies to ensure safety and functionality.
• Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers, architects, planners, and professionals to execute project work and guide construction.
• Prepare data visualizations, reports, sketches, calculations, and 2D/3D illustrations for data interpretation.
• Maintain quality control, measurements, statistics, and reporting standards.
