Job summary

CPL is seeking a Building Systems Engineer (BSE) I to design structural building systems for projects across our practice areas in Atlanta, GA. You will assess gravity, wind, and seismic loads, prepare detailed drawings and calculations, and oversee construction while guiding junior engineers.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering degree, 4+ years of structural experience, and licensure, with proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit and design software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum of 4 years of structural engineering experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD/Revit and design software (Enercalc, RISA, Bentley).
• Professional licensure required and knowledge of relevant codes.

Responsibilities

• Assess gravity, wind and seismic loads to ensure code-compliant designs.
• Research and apply current technologies and stay updated on new methods.
• Design and analyze complex structural systems for buildings and infrastructure.
• Prepare detailed drawings and design calculations.
• Develop project specifications for structural projects.
• Oversee construction, review submittals, inspect work, resolve issues.
• Supervise junior engineers and support their growth.
