Job summary

CPL is seeking a Structural Building Systems Engineer I to design building systems across projects, using advanced engineering techniques for sustainable outcomes. The role involves applying gravity, wind, and seismic principles, producing detailed drawings, and guiding junior engineers.

Ideal candidates will have a Civil Engineering degree, 4+ years of structural experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit with Enercalc/RISA/Bentley tools, plus professional licensure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of structural engineering experience.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD/Revit and design software Enercalc, RISA, Bentley Structural System.
  • Professional Licensure required.
  • Knowledge of IBC, ASCE-7, ACI 318, AISC 360 and applicable codes.
  • Strong analytical, writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assess interaction of gravity, wind, and seismic loads to meet codes.
  • Design and analyze complex structural systems for buildings and infrastructure.
  • Prepare detailed drawings and design calculations.
  • Develop project specifications for structural building projects.
  • Oversee construction phase, review submittals and resolve field issues.
  • Supervise junior engineers and support their growth.
