Job summary

Typical duties include rigging hoisting equipment, attaching loads to crane hooks, and coordinating movement and signals to ensure safety on site. Candidates must meet safety training requirements and adhere to safety and quality procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
• Observe SIC and Customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.

Responsibilities

• Select cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved.
• Attach pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures with bolts and clamps.
• Attach load with grappling devices to crane hook.
• Give directions to Crane Operator engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety using signals or other means.
• Set up, brace, and rig hoisting equipment with hand tools and power wrenches.
• Splice rope and wire cables to make or repair slings and tackle.
• Coordinate movement of equipment according to signals and directions.
• Detect, recognize, and respond to dangerous conditions.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Significant travel may be required.
• Performs other duties as required.
