Job summary

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. is seeking Rigging Helpers to work from our Columbia, SC office on various job sites in the surrounding area. Travel will be required, and hired candidates will be considered for Benefits/Paid Time Off after 3 months.

We emphasize safety, training, and teamwork to ensure successful load handling and operations. This role involves rigging, signaling, and coordination with crane operators in a dynamic industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
• Observation of SIC safety and quality procedures at all times.

Responsibilities

• Select cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to load size and weight.
• Attach pulley and blocks to overhead structures with bolts and clamps.
• Attach load with grappling devices to crane hook.
• Direct Crane Operator using hand signals, loudspeaker, or telephone to ensure safety.
• Set up, brace, and rig hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches.
• Splice rope and wire cables to make or repair slings and tackle.
• Coordinate movement of equipment and materials per signals.
• Detect and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Significant travel may be required.
• Performs other duties as required.
