Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks Rigging Helpers to work out of our Columbia, SC office on various jobsite in the surrounding area. Must be willing to travel.

You will learn to select cables and rig loads, follow hand signals, and coordinate with crane operators during lifts on diverse

Qualifications

• Requires Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
• Observe SIC and Customer safety and quality processes at all times.

Responsibilities

• Select cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved.
• Attach pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures with bolts and clamps.
• Attach load with grappling devices to crane hook.
• Give directions to Crane Operator engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety using hand signals, loudspeaker, or telephone.
• Set up, brace, and rig hoisting equipment with hand tools and power wrenches.
• Splice rope and wire cables to make or repair slings and tackle.
• Coordinate movement of equipment and materials according to signals and directions.
• Rate information using measurable standards.
• Detect, recognize, and respond to dangerous conditions.
