Job summary

Patterson-UTI is seeking a Motorhand to support drilling operations regionally. The role focuses on ensuring equipment runs smoothly, performing minor repairs, and assisting in rig up and rig down.

The position involves heavy lifting, working around loud machinery, and following rigorous safety procedures. The Motorhand will maintain generators and hydraulic/electrical systems, inspect engines and pumps, and supervise Floorhands during drilling activities.

Qualifications

• Three (3) months of experience as a Motorhand on a drilling rig.
• Six (6) months of experience working on a rig-based position for drilling contractor.
• Twelve (12) months of stable related work history.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Lift and place slips weighing about 150 pounds with assistance.
• Independently use heavy-duty handheld and long-handled tools.
• Maintain equipment and oversee hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Regularly inspect main engines, air systems, and boiler operations.
• Provide instructions and oversight to Floorhands during drilling activities.
• Keep a daily log of maintenance and repairs.
