Job summary

Patterson-UTI is seeking an entry-level Floorhand in a regional Texas location. The role supports Motorhand, Derrickhand, and Driller with daily rig operations, pipe handling, and basic maintenance. Training is provided on the job, with substantial on-the-job learning during shifts on rugged rigs.

The Floorhand will perform general housekeeping on the rig floor, assist in drilling activities, and ensure safe handling of drill pipe connections and other equipment on site.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months experience as a Floorhand on a Drilling Rig
• One (1) year of stable work history
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Responsibilities

• Assist with rig moves: help with rig-up/rig-down, nipple up and down, and hook up and tear out of flare lines
• General upkeep of the rig and drilling floor; includes regular sweeping, shoveling, cleaning, painting, washing of equipment and related housekeeping duties
• Inspect safety equipment and PPE for wear and replace as needed
• Maintain situational awareness around a safe work environment with many moving objects
• Willing to travel to and work in remote locations on a rotational schedule of 14 days on / 14 days off, working 12.5 hour shifts
