Job summary

Adventureland Park in Altoona, IA is seeking a Rides Lead to supervise the Rides Hosts and support the Rides Manager in delivering a safe, fun guest experience. You will mentor hosts, ensure SOPs are followed, coordinate schedules, and conduct daily safety audits while staying adaptable to a dynamic outdoor environment.

This role requires leadership, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• There is no minimum education requirement.
• 1+ season of work experience in the Rides Department is required.
• iROC certification training must be completed.
• Fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily supervision of the Rides team and any other assigned departments.
• Lead by example, attitude, and as a representation of Adventureland’s core values.
• Backfill ride positions when needed and participate in new-hire orientation and training.
• Assist with team scheduling and timekeeping activities as needed.
• Ensure a smooth operation of all rides and attractions and maintain knowledge of all rides.
• Enforce park policies, ride restrictions, and safety procedures at all times.
• Report rides-related issues to Park Leadership and Maintenance promptly.
• Identify hazards and inform park leadership of any concerns.
