Job summary

Muon Space, Inc. seeks an early-career RF Hardware Test Engineer to join the Testbeds & EGSE team at our San Jose campus. You will help build HITL testbeds, design EGSE interfaces, and translate flight hardware concepts into practical test configurations.

The role emphasizes hands-on hardware, problem solving, and collaboration with electrical, software, and systems engineers in a Linux-heavy environment. Onsite work 5 days a week in San Jose.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on experience building, testing, or debugging hardware in electromechanical systems
• Background in electrical, embedded software, mechanical, or industrial controls
• Hands-on hardware skills: assembly, wiring, troubleshooting with meters/oscilloscopes
• Understanding of electronics fundamentals and interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet)
• Basic scripting or programming (Python or Bash)
• Strong problem-solving and hands-on engineering approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork, eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
• B.S. in engineering or equivalent hands-on experience
• Comfort in a Linux heavy development environment

Responsibilities

• Build, integrate, and bring up HITL testbed hardware for missions
• Assist in design of testbed hardware and next-generation EGSE
• Translate flight hardware designs into testbed configurations
• Debug hardware and interfaces across testbeds with cross-functional teams
• Maintain testbed support infrastructure (power, network, lab resources)
• Create and maintain documentation (diagrams, build records, procedures)
• Coordinate with supply chain and production on testbed inventory and builds
