Job summary

Muon Space is seeking an early-career Hardware Test Engineer to join our Testbeds & EGSE team, building HITL testbeds and EGSE hardware for satellites during assembly, integration, and test. You will work with senior engineers to bring up testbeds for missions and contribute to the next generation of EGSE.

This hands-on role is onsite in San Jose, requiring a background in electrical, embedded software, mechanical, or industrial controls, strong problem-solving, and a collaborative mindset in a

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on experience building, testing, or debugging hardware in electromechanical systems
• Experience with electrical interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet)
• Basic scripting or programming (Python or Bash)
• Comfort in a Linux development environment

Responsibilities

• Build, integrate, and bring up HITL testbed hardware for each mission
• Assist in designing testbed hardware and EGSE for power, command, and monitoring
• Translate flight hardware designs into mission testbed configurations
• Debug hardware and interfaces across testbeds with cross-disciplinary teams
• Maintain testbed infrastructure and respond when systems fail
• Create and maintain testbed architecture diagrams and build records
• Coordinate with supply chain on testbed inventory and module builds
