GlobalFoundries invites an Electrical Engineering student to join the RF/mm-Wave Reference Design Team for Summer 2026. You will tackle challenging mm-Wave circuit problems on internal test chips and MPWs, guided by mentors and peers.

The internship offers hands-on design experience with Cadence-based tools, simulations, and EM analysis, emphasizing collaboration, safety, and professional growth in a fast-paced semiconductor environment.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Transistor level circuit design understanding.
• RF/mm-Wave circuit design knowledge.
• English language proficiency.
• Availability to work 40 hours/week during internship.

Responsibilities

• Design and tape-out mm-Wave reference circuits on internal test chips and MPWs.
• Use industry-standard design tools for schematic design, physical layout, parasitic extractions, pre- and post-layout simulations, and EM simulations.
• Perform circuit optimizations to meet performance requirements.
• Collaborate with design leads on multiple concurrent projects.
• Ensure activities are performed safely and in compliance with EH&S requirements.
