Job summary

Corning Advanced Optics is seeking a summer engineering intern to support R&D on Microwave RF products. You will join the mechanical design team to work on RF connector designs, focusing on fabrication and metrology optimization.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with prototyping, design of experiments, and collaboration across disciplines, with housing/travel assistance and a final project presentation. Position runs May–August 2027 at the posted location.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Optical, Manufacturing, or Engineering Science.
• Coursework in Mechanical, Optical, Manufacturing, or Engineering Science.
• Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Working knowledge of engineering tools such as Solidworks, ANSYS, MATLAB, or similar tools.
• Available for 10 weeks during Summer 2027 (May-August 2027) with a graduation date of December 2027 or later
• Interested in Corning, Inc after graduation if offered a full-time job opportunity.
• Be willing to work at the posted job location

Responsibilities

• Mechanical design/engineering and prototyping support of RF interconnect designs.
• Support new product introduction and design of experiments.
• Modeling and analysis support for RF microwave connectors.
