Job summary

Newmont is seeking a Benefits professional to oversee U.S. and Canadian retirement programs within the Benefits Center of Expertise. The role involves managing escalated employee and retiree inquiries, vendor relationships, and ensuring regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.

You will partner with actuaries, site HR, and other internal teams to support valuations, reporting, and process improvements, including annual plan audits and the SOX control for the U.S. pension plan.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration, mathematics, or related field.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. and Canadian retirement plan design and regulations.
  • Experience with U.S. and Canadian retirement plans (3+ years).

Responsibilities

  • Support management of U.S. and Canadian retirement programs and respond to escalated inquiries.
  • Lead vendor management and monthly calls; resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with actuaries on valuations, compliance, and reporting.
  • Ensure plans comply with local, provincial, and country laws.
  • Support annual audits and changes to retirement regulations.
  • Serve as SOX Control Owner for the U.S. pension plan.
  • Partner with HR, IT, Payroll, Legal, Treasury and other teams on process improvements.
  • Provide project support for retirement program initiatives.
  • Work with retirement plan administrator to answer questions.
