Motion in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Retirement Benefits Manager to serve as the subject matter expert for retirement and financial wellness plans across the U.S. and Canada.

The role leads governance, compliance, vendor management, and program enhancements in collaboration with HR, Finance, Payroll, Legal, and external providers. You will drive plan education, executive reporting, and stakeholder engagement while ensuring alignment with Total Rewards objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (HR, Finance, Accounting, Economics).
• 5–8 years of progressive retirement benefits experience.
• Strong knowledge of qualified defined contribution plans and ERISA requirements.
• Experience in governance, audits, and regulatory filings for retirement plans.
• Experience managing external vendors, consultants, and recordkeepers.
• Proficiency with HRIS, retirement platforms, and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary subject matter expert for all retirement benefit plans and programs.
• Assist design, governance, and ongoing administration of retirement and financial wellness plans.
• Manage relationships with third-party administrators, trustees, and consultants.
• Coordinate retirement plan committee meetings and provide materials and reporting.
• Monitor legislative changes and industry trends to suggest program enhancements.
• Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRC, and applicable regulations.
• Coordinate annual compliance testing, Form 5500 filings, and disclosures.
• Lead vendor reviews and service-level performance evaluations.
• Analyze plan participation and savings metrics to improve retirement readiness.
