Alvarez & Marsal in New York, NY is seeking a Manager, Total Rewards to lead retirement and financial benefit programs across the U.S. and Canada.

You will guide a team responsible for plan administration, employee support, and compliance, while collaborating with Payroll, Finance, Legal, and external vendors. The role requires expertise in cash balance plans and RRSP administration, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to translate complex benefits concepts for executives

Qualifications

• 6+ years of Total Rewards/Benefits experience with focus on retirement plans.
• Experience with recordkeepers, actuaries, auditors, payroll, and HR partners.
• Knowledge of ERISA compliance and plan governance.
• Ability to explain complex retirement provisions clearly.
• Advanced analytical skills in data modeling and cost projections.
• Experience with HRIS (Workday) and benefits platforms.
• Strong strategic thinking and cross-functional leadership.
• Excellent communication with senior executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead administration of retirement and financial benefit programs across the U.S. & Canada.
• Coach and support a team handling program administration and employee questions.
• Serve as a trusted resource on retirement plan provisions and compliance.
• Manage cash balance plan operations, data reviews, and benefit calculations.
• Support plan governance, notices, funding, audits, and nondiscrimination testing.
• Collaborate with Payroll, Finance, Legal, HRIS and vendors to deliver programs on time.
• Build vendor relationships, manage escalations and reporting.
• Create employee communications and educational materials on retirement benefits.
• Analyze benefits data to support strategy and decision-making.
• Lead or support projects like RFPs, enrollments, plan changes, vendor transitions.
• Stay current on U.S./Canada retirement and compliance requirements and share updates.
