Job summary

Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America in the Chicago area is seeking a Financial Consultant to provide in-person and virtual counseling on the full range of TIAA products for participants, new entrants, prospects, and beneficiaries. You will support financial planning and investment decisions across retirement products.

Initially non‑exempt and paid hourly during training, the role becomes exempt with a salary equal to hourly rate times 40 hours.

Qualifications

• University degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience; 5+ years preferred.
• Series 7 and Series 63 required.
• Life and Health Insurance License required within 120 days

Responsibilities

• Counsels participants on pension plans, tax deferred annuities and other investment options to help clients retain and grow assets.
• Educates, recommends and facilitates new product purchases (mutual funds, annuities, IRAs, 529, 403b, bank products, life insurance) and provides authoritative information for financial planning decisions.
• Interacts with retirement plan participants to provide exceptional service and fulfill transactions and service requests.
• Uses knowledge of tax and investment strategies to inform financial advice based on clients' needs and objectives.
• Communicates with cross‑business teams to develop and implement TIAA products and services.
• Develops and maintains strong relationships with institutional plan sponsors.
