Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) seeks a Plan Administration Associate in Augusta, ME. You will support Defined Benefit, Deferred Compensation, and Defined Contribution programs, handling inquiries and ensuring accurate retirement plan transactions.

The role emphasizes research, problem-solving, and attention to detail while serving members, employers, and internal staff. Travel within Maine may be required, with a comprehensive benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus four (4) years of relevant experience.
• Proficient in MS Office suite.
• Ability to travel within the state; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Research and respond to member and employer inquiries regarding plan provisions, participation, eligibility, and distributions.
• Determine eligibility for plan participation and distributions and process rollovers and other plan transactions.
• Review and maintain plan documentation to ensure it is accurate, complete, compliant, and properly recorded.
• Serve as a resource to staff, members, and employers by interpreting plan provisions and providing accurate information.
• Maintain daily plan administration operations in the absence of the Plan Administrator.
• Prepare documentation and materials for current and prospective PLD employers.
• Coordinate employer and member meetings for the Plan Administrator, ensuring information and materials are prepared in advance.
• Represent MainePERS at benefit fairs, conferences, and other outreach events.
• Use system software and related tools to complete work accurately, efficiently, and within established timeframes.
