Job summary

Meijer in Michigan is seeking a Store Manager to lead day-to-day store operations across departments. You will mentor staff, drive sales, manage staffing and training, and ensure excellent customer service while upholding company standards.

You will oversee P&L, implement shrink control, and foster career development through coaching, succession planning and performance management, contributing to Meijer's community-focused store experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in meat, deli, bakery, produce or general customer service and product flow helpful.
• Strong communication to provide clear direction and resolve conflicts.

Responsibilities

• Staff, select and hire to meet staffing needs.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Promote succession planning and development needs; support promotions decisions.
• Document disciplinary actions and advise on discharge when needed.
• Be responsible for P&L, sales targets and shrink control.
• Model fast, friendly customer service and Meijer Friendly Initiative.
• Ensure staff training is completed and area adheres to Meijer standards.
• Spend most time in-store communicating with customers and team members to deliver exceptional service.
• Maintain store appearance and product presentation during peak hours.
