Job summary

Meijer is seeking a store leadership professional in Michigan to direct and supervise team members across daily store operations. You will mentor staff, implement strategies to improve customer service, and drive sales while meeting customer needs efficiently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store (meat, bakery, produce, deli) helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clear directions to the team.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and analyze financial information for informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning by providing career paths and development needs, and involvement in promotion decisions.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and make discharge recommendations.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicate Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet customer service and sales goals and maintain standards.
• Ensure thorough training of team members and completion of required training.
• Spend majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members.
• Promote a safe work environment and maintain reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
