Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) or related customer service/product flow experience.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions; skill in teaching suggestive selling.
• Leadership to mentor team members and promote safety; experience in promotions decisions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning by identifying development needs and being involved in promotion decisions.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions; make recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Mentor and coach team members to exceed customer service and sales goals; maintain Meijer standards.
• Ensure staff are trained and complete required training.
• Spend majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members.
