Job summary

Meijer is seeking a Store Leadership professional to plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day operations across departments. You will mentor staff, drive sales, manage staffing and training, and implement Meijer’s customer-first initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• 1 year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli).
• Ability to communicate clearly to team members.
• Ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial/statistical information to inform decisions and suggestive selling.
• Ability to mentor team members across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Oversee staffing, selection and hiring to meet needs.
• Promote succession planning and identify development needs.
• Disciplinary actions and discharge recommendations as needed.
• Manage P&L, sales, and shrink within the department.
• Model exceptional customer service and communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative.
• Ensure team training is completed and that steps are in place for safety and compliance.
• Spend most time in-store engaging with customers and staff to deliver exceptional service.
• Maintain a safe work environment and uphold company standards.
